BM 121 is a venture laboratory course that introduces entrepreneurship as a process of identifying opportunities, solving real problems, testing assumptions, and developing viable business concepts. The course is designed around the principle of moving students from ideas to a tested venture in one semester, with the final output taking the form of a written and presented business proposal grounded in iterative learning.
The course begins with entrepreneurship fundamentals, the entrepreneurial mindset, and the role of the individual business owner. It then develops student capability in product-market fit, external analysis, marketing thinking, innovation, strategy, human resources, financing, and checking how the venture meets social developmental goals. Afterwards, the course transitions into a guided venture laboratory phase. In this phase, students refine their ideas, conduct small experiments, interpret feedback, and convert what they learned into a stronger business plan. This course is not only about producing a polished final proposal. It is also about learning from uncertainty, improving ideas through evidence, and demonstrating discipline, creativity, and accountability throughout the venture development process.
