Course Title: Nutrition Education and Training II
Course Description:
This is a 2.0-unit laboratory course which aims for you to apply the principles and methods you have learned in teaching-learning to various groups of people and settings (FN 141). You will translate technical and complex food, health, and nutrition knowledge into appropriate, relevant, inclusive, sustainable, effective, behavior-focused nutrition education messages and activities. These teaching-learning activities will be guided by an instructional design and aided by various information, education, and communication (IEC) materials. The competencies you will gain from this course is crucial in your role as future health communicators and promoters in the field of nutrition and dietetics. We aim to modify the understanding, perception, behavior, and practices of lay people, leaders, and policy makers to address and prevent malnutrition in our communities. We also aim to capacitate our allied healthcare workers with the nutrition knowledge and skills they need in addressing these issues.
