This required course prepares the MSTDM student to plan and undertake research in a scholarly manner. More specifically it is intended to equip the graduate student to conduct research in line with the requirements of the Master’s program, including the Master’s thesis. This course must be taken together with Tour 298 – Tourism Development and Management Research Seminar, where you will work to define the research topic, problem, and frameworks of your thesis proposal. The in-depth survey of the major research approaches, methods and other concepts taken up in Tour 299 will provide the foundation for the Methods chapter which will complete your Thesis Proposal.
The course covers the structure and science of research in planning. The fundamental concepts of research design, data analysis, and research writing are undertaken in the context of the learner’s identified research problem- Teacher: Marie Danielle Guillen
