Tropical Design is the systematic analysis of climatic elements, most particularly under the tropical types of climates and regions; and recognizing how these elements affect the design process.
The course introduces students to the planning and design strategies of structures within the constraints of the hot, humid type of climate and other tropical climate types as well (hot, dry climate). As part of the assessment, the course challenges the students to create new architectural forms influenced by a regional design approach.
