Transportation
and travel could be discussed without taking tourism into consideration, but
tourism cannot thrive without travel. And the most basic mode happens on the land. Land transportation is an
integral part of the tourism industry. It is largely due to the improvement of
land transportation management that tourism has expanded. Crucial to land
transportation and tourism are the different available modes on the land, both road and on rail including active transport (walking and other NMT modes). It is thus, important to have an awareness of the environment in which
these modes must function, both today and in the future. Analysis of new
approaches, techniques, and management tools employed by effective bus and
railway managers as well as the breadth and challenge of strategic problems-the
present and future which confront these bus and railway executives are explored
in this course.
