The course tackles the role and rationale of education as a vital element in national development. Specifically, the course
discusses the dynamics of issues, trends, and challenges in education in light of the recent K-12 reforms in Philippine Education and the comprehensive national assessment and evaluation of the performance of the Philippine education sector in EDCOM 2 ,
the impact of the global pandemic brought about by the COVID-19 virus, and its relationship to different factors involved in the socioeconomic and political development of the country through various studies and research findings. It gives an overview of the history,
organization, policies and programs, and other related circumstances that have influenced the Philippine Education System.

In this course, you will analyze varied educational leadership theories, principles, processes, and strategies applied for effective school operations. The course will provide you with knowledge, skills and attitudes essential to school leadership, specifically to develop educational leaders who can create and foster dynamic and responsive school culture conducive for successful learning. This can be achieved by connecting theoretical and practical aspects of effective leadership. Hence, this course is divided into two parts: 1) understanding leadership and what it means to be/become leaders and 2) practice of educational leadership in school contexts.
