This course sets the basic framework of service to the community and the Filipino people as the basis for all NSTP component courses. It emphasizes the UP values of honor and excellence in the service of the people, and is consistent with the principles embodied in the NSTP IRR of 2009
This National Service Training Program-Civil Welfare Training Service 1&2 has an allotted time of 54 – 90 hours. For this Midyear course, the first two weeks is for NSTP 1 lectures and workshop. This common module phase is focus on citizenship training; drug education; disaster awareness, preparedness, and management; environmental protection; and other national security concerns. The last two-three weeks is for NSTP 2 is more of class activity embodying volunteerism and community engagement. NSTP 2 classes are mainly concerned with community engagement with the help of partner communities and organizations. The highlight of this is the class project development, evaluation (both for peers and partners) and implementation.
