This course attempts to situate frameworks and historical discourse regarding problems of living and social intervention within the field of community psychology and apply the concepts and theories in real-life situations. Broadly speaking, this course will explore ecological and social factors related to human behavior and social intervention. Concepts from community, organizational, and social psychology will be explored as they relate to understanding and addressing problems of living. This course will emphasize multiple levels of analysis (e.g., individual, community) and intervention (e.g., individual, organizational, and systems change). Finally, this course will explore the methods, practice, and ethics of community-based research and social intervention.
